When you need to get your paddleboard or kayak fix in the Key Largo, Tavernier, or Islamorada, we are the place to come. Rent a stand up paddleboard or kayak for the hour, day or week. We can deliver it to you or we can strap it to your vehicle. We also have very capable tour guides who can give you a quick lesson and then take you off on an excursion to explore the natural life you encounter on your eco tour. Joe Roberts

Joe is a Key Largo native who has grown up on the waters of Florida Bay in and around Key Largo. His enthusiasm for paddleboarding is overflowing. He really loves to share kayak and paddleboard experiences with everyone. Joe also enjoys racing his 12'6" paddleboard at local events. He will be a force to be reconned with in the future.
Scott Baste
Owner and Paddleboard instructor/ASI level 2
A relative newcomer to the Keys, Scott is a former elite level mountain bike racer, Scott is now an elite level paddleboarder. He can be seen at many local races. Scott has been a life long paddler. Canoeing was a family past time so he grew up paddling. He enjoys slow easy paddling as well as spirited racing. You can find Scott paddling in Florida Bay as well as on the ocean side of Key Largo and Islamorada.
Scott also enjoys mountian biking, road cycling, scuba diving, sailing, white water kayaking, sports/action photography and nature photography. That adds up to a lot of gear.
Mike Gjerde
Associate and Tour Guide
Mike has been in the Keys since 1989. He is very enthusiastic about teaching paddleboarding and everyone who goes on a tour with him falls completely in love. Mike is also our resident skateboard expert.
Chris Barnes

Chris splits his time up between working in the shop and working at the Paddle 88 location. He keeps the beach running and on busy days that is a big job. Chris is also a Marine Reservist and very excited to be doing eco tours here in Tavernier. He studies the local flora and fauna so try and stump him if he is your guide.
Crystal Jones

Crystal is a recent transplant to the Keys from North Carolina. She splits her time up between the shop and the beach. Sometimes you might even see her twin sister hanging around. In addition to leading tours, Crystal teaches SUP Yoga and lays down the law at the beach too. Crystal and her husband Zach are avid fishers enjoy getting out and catching a few.
Hunter Slate

Hunter joined the team this year but he has been working the Paddle 88 beach long before we owned it. He is very enthusiastic and works hard getting boards and boats in and out of the water. Hunter is also an avid longboard skater. He has quite the collection. Hunter is still in school so only works summers and holiday weekends right now.

Seychelle has been with us for a couple of years. She has been very successful on the local racing scene. She also teaches sup racing, fitness, and yoga classes.
